Land of extremes

Aceh1

This is the view of Beth's project in Aceh.  In contrast, this is a picture of my World Bank 'power breakfast':

Breakfast

Those are fresh strawberries.  Couldn't get those in Flores, in fact in Flores this breakfast we would be just the banana, or maybe some ubi tatas (sweet potato).

Christmas Eve... and the family have descended from the corners of the world... well Mexico and Glasgow! Having returned from a winter walk in the Forest of Avon to the only house in Clifton without a TV, I seek refuge from a one year old niece learning to walk and wave and smile, to the solace of my favoured sofa, mug of tea in hand and your website on my screen, I chortle at your sorley missed humour and I marvel at the journey you have made so far from frantic DIY at Oakfield and lazy Monday mornings, to being the most worthy people I have the pleasure of knowing and counting as friends. Please keep up the Blog, many of us love to read what you are up to and crave the detail of the projects. Take care and have fun, we think of you and the lives you now lead, more than we possibly care to admit!

Happy Christmas and a Fantastic New Year!!
